I really liked Fantasia's post on places in Kuweit, so I'll be doing something like that about Belgium.
The capital city of Belgium is Brussels. In the first picture you can see the Royal Palace. It contains a lot of interesting works of art, including work by Jan Fabre. He decorated one of the ceilings in the Royal Palace with more than a million jewel beetle carapaces, as you can see in the second picture.

Another famous monument in Brussels is the Atomium. It was built in 1958 for the World Fair in Brussels (also called Expo 58). Like it or not, it's definitely something special, and in a way it's to Brussels what La Tour Eiffel is to Paris.

Maybe the most beautiful city in Brussels is Bruges (or Brugge in Dutch). It used to be one of Europe's most important trades cities during the 13the century, and it attracts loads of tourists every year.

Leuven is famous for it's university, which is the eldest remaining Catholic university in the world. There are also a lot of beautiful buildings in the city, like the town hall, the main university library and the beguinage.
